Herbs that Heal

Herbal Medicine

Herbal Medicine Training

I completed a 2 year long apprenticeship program at Sacred Vibes Apothecary in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn. This program taught me both the medicinal and spiritual attributes of over 50 kinds of plants, formulary, and medicine preparation. We also worked with clients in our clinic and presented workshops to the community on using herbs for healing.

What Is Herbal Medicine?

The intrinsic power and healing properties of plants should not be overlooked and discounted, though I feel as a society we are extremely distant from using them to their fullest extent. Most plant medicines have gentle effects on the human body and most pharmaceuticals are derived from a plant that nature has modeled for chemists; they contain combinations of compounds that are designed to work together in ways that many synthetic medicines cannot. Where one chemical is powerful and may cause side effects, another in the same plant provides balance to cancel or minimize those effects. A standard course of treatment is 3 months. Nature is redundant and many plants can address many issues. Everybody’s body responds different to different kinds of plants, so you can try different kinds if one does not respond the way you want.

Herbal Medicine Consults

I can offer you a full consultation, in the same way I do with health coaching, and create as specific herbal medicine protocol to meet your unique needs; albeit a medical, energetic, emotional or mental condition. I also will suggest specific herbs, as appropriate, in my regular health coaching practice if you are interested. Plants can be a wonderful support during times of transition!
