Bay Leaves ~ also known as bay laurel, and traditionally used as a culinary herb. This leaf is an anti-fungal, antiseptic, astringent, carminative, circulatory, diupheretic, and stimulant tonic. It is used to strengthen and tone the digestive system, good for arthritis, arterial sclerosis, bronchitis, colic, cramps, delayed menses, fine memory loss and poor circulation. It can be used in cooking, infused for tea, in rubbing alcohol, in baths for muscles, good for dandruff and to soak hands for a nail fungus. It is said to aid in releasing suppressed emotion, increase vitality, and to bring our spirituality to the physical level.
Damiana ~ also known as old woman's and witches broom. This is indigenous to Central and South America, Mexico and the Southwest US. Traditionally used by the Aztecs as a sexual tonic this plant is a nervine, aphrodisiac, antidepressant, urinary antiseptic, stimulant, and a hormonal and nervous system tonic. This is used to aid in low libido, menopause and hot flashes, nervousness, depression (with sexual factors), lower limb weakness, anxiety, delayed or repressed menses, and mucus congestion. Can be infused as a tea, used in a tincture, in recipes for cordials, and smoked (nice blend with Osha and Mullien). Spiritually used for dreaming (pillows and teas), in spells, for visions when burned and said to "light the sacred fire within". I love it!
